Hey Euro Race Fans,

Six rounds in and the circuit actions continues to get hotter and hotter - despite the single figure temperatures (don't think i ever seen so many cars spin off at the fish hook - ever!).

Competitors were greeted with a winter wonderland style Goulburn, with white frost covering the entire city...it was going to be tough to put heat in the tyres that was for sure, but dam the turbo crew were happy.

There was an eclectic mix of Euro, Jap and Aussie metal in the pits - from a Radical to an 1984 Alfa GTV 2.0 to the show stopping Mercedes Black - there were camera flashes going off all day around pit lane.

EPCC competitors were also able to rub shoulders with Motorsport celebrities Samantha Stevens, Chris Barry and the 'Stig' (aka advanced driver trainer Jeff) not only that, with Mark and Tania from Meguiar's and Liqui Moly on site - all competitors and the general public could purchase the entire range of products at prices Super Cheap Auto couldn't even match!

Enough Jibba Jabba though...onto the results

From the time the roaring thunder of Andre's Radical came into view there was no doubt who would be the fastest on the day...and with a time of 0:56.3200 on the leader board he was almost a good 10 seconds clear of the entire field...keep an eye on youtube for those laps - WOW!

The Clubman guys though were not taking that lying down though, and with Chris Barry on site to offer tuning advice, Andrew and James were right at the top of the board also in the open class - understeer, oversteer and everything on every corner...they are so much fun to watch and even better too drive!

Damien in the monster Lexus V8 SC400 (with a dirty great big turbo bolted on for good measure) was always going to sit atop the podium in the coupe class however, it was also no surprise to see the Autopia 135i and Ian's Mercedes Black just a second behind putting plenty of pressure on the big Lexus.

The Mercedes Black may have been the show stopper of the day however it was Jeff's butter smooth controlled drifts in the Autopia 135i that had everyone fixed to the circuit...Matthew Mead (our ichiban motorsport photographer) would have filled more than his fare share of memory cards on turn 10 alone...unfortunately he was unable to be present for the event so if you took some photo's on the day send them in - the best shots will gain you free entry to the next EPCC event!

Ian in the E46 M3 and Craig in the E36 M3 were not too far behind the pro's putting in some quick and consistent laps all day (lets be honest, Jeff and Ian are more than a cut above most weekend warriors - ask them to take you for a hot lap and you'll see what i mean =P).

Honorable mention once again goes to Simon in his 1984 Alfa GTV 2.0 tracing some neat lines to a PB on the day of 1:20.2380...not too bad at all when you factor in he bought it for less than $500! It's faster than some new cars too when you think about it.

The hot hatch field was not as a large as the Go Pro Hero Oran Park GP Event with some key hot hatch competitors struck down with flu (or just too scared to face the French Renault assault)...not that the Renault crowd cared at all - it gave them a better chance a taking home the prizes =)

Joey who emerged as a strong contender at the last round at Oran Park was out in force again and leed the french hot hatch charge - the French cars are just so damn fast (must be the STD LSD)

Robert in his R32 put in some blitzing times against the French hot hatches however, Joey could not be caught.

Martin in 225 F1 Team Megane was just 0.1 seconds off the pace or Robert and 2 seconds of his personal best time at the RDA Brakes WP Sprint...must have been the single figure temps.

Anthony's stunning blue RenaultSport Clio rounded off the category with a 1:14.8380 - still well ahead of a lot of the Jap metal there on the day including EVO's and Silvia's!

The Avant / Estate class was left empty...which is a shame as Brett was ready to settle the 'Top Gear Australia' score against an Audi RS6 in his Holden Sporstwagon...next time Brett, next time.

Handicapped Placing's will be released shortly...stay tuned

So who wins the Liqui Moly Prize Packs and a $100 Sureflo Performance Exhaust dollars?

Well, we all know who the ‘Circuit Breaker’ is – Andrie Tan (when you’re almost 10 seconds clear of the field that tends to happen)...but who is the STIG?

Congratulations to Joey in the mighty Megane R26 – the Meguiar’s Liqui Moly WP Winter Sprint Stig!

Hold the applause, we still have the Class winners – each receiving a Meguiar’s Prize Pack - to be announced.

Open Class winner was James in the wide body clubman (must have been the S2K engine squeezed in there) on 17.1 points...just ahead of Andrie on 16.8 – 0.3 is close!

Coupe Class was not as close as previous events with Jeff in the Autopia 135i taking a clear win with 22.8 points on the board...almost 10 points clear of his nearest rival. As good as it is to beat traffic and get home early – it costs you big on the points table if you miss a session...try and stay to the end if you can, don’t make it too easy for Jeff.

Joey scooped the pool in the hot hatch class with a 24 point win...just ahead of Anthony on 21.60. This makes Joey the first person to win $300 worth of prizes at an event for the first time this year!

Congratulations Joey...but save some prizes for the rest of us yeah.

Congratulations to all out Meguiar’s / Liqui Moly Wakefield Park Winter Sprint Event Winners and who knows...it could be you on the podium at the next event.

Drive Fast, Drive Safe and see you at the circuit!
